Patrick (Pat) has been working in Occupational Health & Safety training and development for over 25 years. Pat is a recognized Safety Specialist and a recognized Trainer by both the Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities (MTCU) and the Ontario Ministry of Labour (MOL). Pat has held both Management and Worker roles with responsibilities including authoring policies and procedures, monitoring and managing Corporate compliance, hosting safety meetings, performing workplace inspections, accident investigation and reporting along with leading the Joint Health & Safety Committee.

When involved in Operations Management, Pat’s responsibilities extended to ensuring that current and new operational productivity efforts met all associated compliance requirements. Pat is exceptionally well versed in Occupational Health & Safety legislation, at both the Provincial and Federal levels (e.g. Canada Labour Code requirements along with numerous CSA Standards).

Having acted as the in-house OH&S/T&D Team Leader for 3 prominent safety providers within Ontario as well as having been a Teacher at a Private Career College; Pat has successfully assisted, advised and delivered training for hundreds of organizations and has a passionate, approachable, comfortable “animated” delivery style that thousands of participants have found easy to follow and helpful in understanding the subject matter.

At the beginning of his OH&S / T&D Career, Pat attended the Tibbett & Britten College of Applied Learning. With extensive involvement in training needs-analysis, design and delivery of training courses, training-needs forecasting and auditing training effectiveness, Pat holds 14 different Train-The-Trainer level certificates, has trained and mentored other Trainers and has delivered programs based on Adult Learning Principles ranging in length from half-day Hazardous Materials courses to 17-week Transportation Management programs. Currently, Pat delivers the Joint Health & Safety Committee and Working at Heights training programs governed by the Ontario Ministry of Labour (MOL).

In addition to his Occupational Health & Safety expertise, Pat has also had experience in the design and delivery of Soft-Skills and Total Quality Concept/Total Quality Management (TQC/TQM).

In early 2019, Pat achieved Exemplar Global’s (Provisional) Auditor status for Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems – ISO 45001. He has experience with Company-Specific internal audit processes, the former Workplace Safety & Insurance Board (WSIB) WorkWell Audit and has conducted several safety-related GAP Audits and Legal Compliance Audits.

Having spent much of his time in the Industrial & Transportation sectors, Pat also has experience in: Surface Mining, Construction, Food Services, Retail/Customer Service, Pharmaceuticals, Hotel-Restaurant/Hospitality Management and Youth/Adult education.
