Automotive Core Tools – Product Launch (APQP)

This five-day session focuses on skill building for product launch and product management throughout the Automotive Supply Chain.  The full course (covering all modules) has been designed to satisfy the following objectives:

  1. Meeting Customer Specific Requirements for launch and ongoing production activities

  2. Demonstrating core competencies of a multi-disciplinary design team for product launch and ongoing production activities

  3. Simulation of potential product field failures

  4. Simulation of potential process weaknesses or lack of capability

  5. Practicing measurement system studies

  6. Meeting product design skill requirements within IATF 16949

  7. Meeting competency requirements to conduct Supplier Quality Audits and

  8. Preparing to take the AIAG Core Tool Assessment Exam

Intended for practitioners, each module is focused on how to use the Automotive Core Tools.  A combination of presentations (PPT), visuals (Graphs, Charts, Videos) and interactive group activities (Case Study, Discussion) ensures that this in-depth session is hands-on.

When held in-house, the Case Study and Presentations have been customized for either Bulk Suppliers or Mechanical Suppliers ensuring that the application of each Automotive Core Tool is relevant to the Supplier, their processes, and their product.
